Project APC 6×6
Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) in a 6×6 configuration offer, compared to heavier 8×8 versions, several key advantages primarily related to operations, logistics, manoeuvrability, and naturally lower acquisition and operating costs. While 8×8 vehicles provide higher payload capacity and superior off-road mobility, the 6×6 configuration is experiencing renewed interest mainly due to its lower costs and greater versatility.
The ZETOR APC 6×6 is a new project of the Zetor Engineering R&D department. The APC 6×6 is designed to transport a crew of 2+10, with a symmetrical axle layout and two steerable axles. This ensures excellent manoeuvrability both on roads and in off-road conditions. The APC is designed to overcome water obstacles by fording and swimming.
The vehicle is constructed with a gross vehicle weight of up to 27 tons and a payload capacity of up to 12 tons. It provides optional ballistic protection in accordance with STANAG 4569 Volume 1 Level 2 up to Level 4, and mine protection in accordance with STANAG 4569 Volume 2 Level 2a, 2b, with an option for Level 3a, 3b.
